Buseesa Demonstration Farm yesterday hosted a highly successful Tour and Learn event, attracting hundreds of farmers from across the Uganda. The event took place on the 28th December, 2024 and was designed to equip farmers with cutting-edge skills and knowledge. The day was featured interactive sessions and hands-on training in various agricultural projects at Buseesa Demonstration Farm.

The one-day event covered a wide range of topics, including poultry, piggery, dairy cattle, goat rearing, fish farming, and digital marketing among others. Expert Technical trainers and facilitators shared their expertise, providing farmers with practical tips and insights to enhance their agricultural productivity and profitability.

The Director for Buseesa Demonstration Farm Dr. Lubega Richard, expressed delight at the overwhelming response to the event. “We are thrilled to see so many farmers taking advantage of this opportunity to learn and grow.

“Our goal is to empower farmers with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, and we’re proud to be making a positive impact in our community.” he said.

During the training farmers were also equipped farmers with digital marketing skills they need to succeed in today’s online marketplace! According the facilitator Mr. Mwinganiza Godfrey, he said that farmers need to equip themselves with digital skills so that they access market beyond their local communities adding that Buseesa Demonstration Farm is committed to supporting farmers get into the digital space.

The Tour and Learn event is part of Buseesa Demonstration Farm’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, improve food security, and contribute to social-economic transformation.
