In a major step towards supporting livestock and poultry farmers in the region, Buseesa Demonstration Farm has launched the production of top-quality maize bran and silage, available at affordable prices to farmers and animal keepers across the district.

The initiative aims to improve animal nutrition and reduce the high cost of feeds, which has been a pressing challenge for many local farmers. The farm is currently offering high-grade silage and maize bran—essential feed components for cows, goats, pigs, and poultry—ensuring better health and productivity of animals.

We are committed to supporting farmers with quality and affordable products. Our maize bran and silage are processed with great care to meet the nutritional needs of livestock and poultry.

In addition to selling finished feed products, the farm is also buying maize directly from farmers at very competitive prices, providing a ready market and fair returns for their harvests. Farmers who already have their own maize but lack processing equipment can also bring their maize to the farm, where it will be processed into maize bran at a subsidized cost.

Agriculture mechanization at play at Buseesa Demonstration Farm

This program was started to make life easier for passionate farmers, especially those managing livestock and poultry,” the farm official added. We want to bridge the gap between production and access to quality animal feeds.

Buseesa Demonstration Farm has become a model center for agricultural transformation in the region, and this latest effort continues its mission to empower rural farmers with practical, market-oriented solutions.

Farmers and interested individuals are encouraged to visit the farm and take advantage of the ongoing services. For more information, visit Buseesa Demonstration Farm or call their support lines.
