Buseesa Demonstration Farm, under Busesa Community Development Organization, recently hosted a successful Tour and Learn event that brought together farmers from across Uganda. The event provided a unique opportunity for farmers to explore various projects, including poultry, piggery, dairy cattle, goat rearing, fish farming, rabbit rearing, urban farming, banana plantations, hass avocado growing, and coffee production.

During the tour, farmers had the chance to interact with our technical staff, asking questions and gaining valuable insights into best practices and innovative techniques. The event fostered a sense of community and knowledge sharing, empowering farmers to improve their agricultural practices and increase productivity.

Keynote speakers shared valuable insights, with Dr. Lubega Richard, Executive Director of BCDO, emphasizing the importance of adopting an integrated agriculture approach over mixed farming. He also encouraged farmers to embrace the presidential 4-acre model initiative to transition into the money economy.

Additionally, Mr. Tugonzaruhanga Joseph, BCDO Administrator, advised farmers to work smart and hard to tackle the three major life problems: poverty, diseases, and ignorance.

At Buseesa Demonstration Farm, we’re committed to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture. Events like these demonstrate our dedication to sharing knowledge and expertise, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of our communities.
