A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL FARMERS!
On 25th April 2026, Buseesa Demonstration Farm successfully hosted a powerful farmer profiling and training session following strong mobilization and requests from different religious denominations. This marks the 3rd phase of our 1–4 Acre Model Farming training — a Presidential initiative aimed at driving socio-economic transformation through agriculture.
This phase recorded the largest turnout so far, attracting farmers from Kibaale, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Kagadi, Kyegegwa, Hoima, and Mubende districts.
So far, over 5,000 farmers have been profiled and trained, with a number of them already followed up to ensure practical implementation on their farms.
Farmers were equipped with practical and life-changing skills in:
- Mindset change for farming as a business
- Integrated farming systems
- Commercial agriculture
- Enterprise selection
Hands-on training covered:
- Poultry farming
- Dairy cattle
- Rabbitry
- Pasture establishment
- Fish farming
- Hass avocado growing
- Banana plantation management
- Piggery
- Silage making & feed mixing
- Backyard gardening
- IMO production and application
We extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. the President of Uganda for this visionary program that is already transforming lives. The training is also helping beneficiaries of PDM and Emyooga programs to invest their funds more productively and sustainably.
The training was offered FREE of charge, and we are committed to scaling up farmer profiling, training, and continuous follow-up to ensure lasting impact.
