Busesa Community Development Organization (BCO) officially launched its project on the February 6th 2019. The event took place at BCDO headquarters in Buseesa Trading Center, Matale Sub county, Kibaale District.
The lead facilitator of the event was BCDO Executive Director Mr. Lubega Richard. He welcomed a team from Kibaale District Local Government and Matale Sub county Production Department. In his opening remarks, Richard acknowledged the two teams for having honored his invitation to the launch.
He briefed them on different projects undertaken by BCDO and later led to demonstration sites including but not limited to; Fish pond; piggery; goats, crop production, health and SACCO.
He requested government to support BCDO with the following
- To recognize us as a fully functioning organization that is promotingcommunity development programs.
- To provide us with more skills and knowledge in setting up a good demonstration site.
- As we increase in standards, we request the government to use our demonstration site as a teaching site in Kibaale District as it is strategically located along the Mubende – Kibaale – Kagadi Road and using qualified Doctors and most recent technology in fertilization, structures and crop production.
The demonstration site is unique as it operates different departments under one umbrella organization so that a farmer gets all skills in one place.
- We have prepared one acre of land ready to plant in tissue banana and it’s our request for the government to supply us with those tissue seedlings.
- We also request the Government to support us with all the above missing equipments for the organization to offer quality services.
- We request the government to provide BCDO with improved breeds of pigs, goats, cattle, fish and poultry.
In his remarks the Kibaale District Agricultural Officer Mr. Michael Lumu applauded the BCDO Executive Director for being innovative and boosting the economic and health status of Kibaale District and Uganda in general. He pleged to submit the requests made to the District Planning Committee for consideration in the coming season and next financial year.
He called upon the people of Kibaale District, Bunyoro and Uganda in general to make BCDO a one stop center for learning different and latest technologies in agriculture and health.
