The Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme-URDT is impressed by the innovative projects initiated by Busesa Community Development Organization, which have greatly improved the livelihood of the people of the greater Kibaale and Bunyoro region.  

URDT sent a delegation to BCDO Headquarters on 28th November 2021 to learn from the different projects at BCDO Demonstration farm. Among the projects visited were the Fish ponds, Piggery, goats, banana plantation, and Buseesa Medical Center III.

The BCDO Executive Director Dr. Richard Lubega told the delegation that BCDO uses an integrated approach to development to foster development. He added that BCDO not only provides healthcare services, it also enables people to improve their livelihoods through Agriculture.

Our demonstration farm has empowered people with up to date Agriculture technologies. We have groups of farmers who come and learn from our projects for free and go back to implement what they have learn’t. BCDO also provides the best quality breeds of piggery, goats, banana sacks at very low costs.

The delegation team Leader Mr. Enock Kyambadde was excited about the innovations at BCDO and requested BCDO to have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with URDT so that the two organizations can have a more productive relationship.
