Through allowing participants to learn directly through hands-on experience.

Farmers were trained in a variety of new and improved agricultural technologies, with key emphasis on silage production for cattle, Goats and pig rearing. The training also covered value addition, poultry farming, fish farming, and other innovative practices designed to increase efficiency and reduce losses. Participants learned practical skills in feed preparation, mindset change, enterprise management, record keeping, enterprise selection  and the adoption of climate-smart agricultural methods.

The tour and Learn was highly interactive, with farmers sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, asking questions  and learning from one another. Sessions on enterprise selection helped farmers make informed decisions based on market demand and  use of available resources for starting up . By the end of the one  day training , participants left Busesa Demonstration Farm empowered with knowledge, inspired to adopt new technologies, and ready to transform their agricultural practices as well as there farms

Dr. Lubega the Executive Director BUDEFA was pleased to report the successful Tour and Learn event held on 28/12/2025 at the farm. The success of the  event was largely attributed to the Presidential visit on September 2025, which greatly raised the profile of the farm and attracted many farmers from different districts, and  internship students from various institutions, and development partners. The visit created strong interest in our practical agribusiness models, leading to increased demand and market opportunities for our farm products. Overall, the event strengthened knowledge sharing, promoted adoption of commercial agriculture, and contributed meaningfully to community transformation and sustainable livelihoods.
