Project Goal:

Enabling people to increase control over and improve their health for development.

Project Beneficiaries

  • The project will directly benefit the people of Kibaale District local government who will be interfacing with the project staff
  • Kibaale district health department will also benefit from the project as this contributes to the day today activities of the depattment
  • The neighboring districts of Kakumiro, Kagadi, Kikuube, Kyegegwa, Mubende and others will indirectly benefit through getting access to information on health, aired on KDR and KCR by BCDO staff.

Project Scope

The project will cover all the sub-counties and town councils of Kibaale District local government. It will run for a period of seven years effective September, 2023 through 2031. The project will mainly focus on providing health technical support to the community people of Kibaale district so that they can easily access health services and most importantly gain the knowledge on how to control and prevent common preventable diseases using locally available resources.

During the implementation of the this project, BCDO shall not be involved in any of the following activities; construction works, giving food relief to community members, giving any funds in form of cash to the community members among others.

Project Duration

The project will run from September, 2023 to December 2031.

Project objectives

  • Mobilization for increase in uptake of government health services
  • To improve uptake of family planning activities in the District.
  • Formation and capacity building for village health committees
  • Community-led health diagnosis for the identified problem.

Services

BCDO through its health department will provide a range of services to the people of Kibaale district. Some of the services include but are not limited to;

  • Provision of curative services
  • Immunization of children against immunizable diseases to promote child health.
  • Offering reproductive health services like antenatal, maternity, family planning and adolescent sex education.
  • Training of community health workers on nutrition, environmental sanitation and home management to equip their communities and prevent diseases.
  • HIV testing and counseling.
  • Enrolment of HIV-positive clients on antiretroviral therapy.
  • Providing special consultation on preventable diseases

Information Dissemination

  • Quarterly reports will be written and submitted to key stakeholders elaborating on the progress of the implementation of the project. Among the key stakeholders to receive the report is the District Health department, Sub county/Town Council and the donor community.
  • Radio programs will also be used to disseminate information to the public and also get feedback for integration in the project.
  • Official social media handles for BCDO will be regularly updated with content about the project. BCDO has facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Linked in as the official social media channels.
  • The BCDO website accessed at www.busesacdo.org will also be one of the online platforms where information about the project will be disseminated.
