Busesa Medical Centre III actively participated in the Inception Meeting for Cervical Cancer. The meeting was held at Premium Hotel in Kibaale town council Kibaale district on 5th June, 2024.  In a collaborative effort to address the critical issue of cervical cancer, the Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT) held an engagement meeting with Kibaale District stakeholders.

Buseesa Medical Centre III was represented by the Incharge  Dr. Lubega Richard who also doubles as the Executive Director for Busesa Community Development Organization.

The meeting aimed to discuss the implementation and enhancement of cervical cancer screening services in the district, focusing on increasing awareness, improving accessibility, and ensuring quality care for all women.

Cervical cancer remains a significant health concern in Uganda, with high morbidity and mortality rates attributed to late-stage diagnosis. The Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme has been at the forefront of health education and service delivery, particularly in rural areas where access to healthcare is limited.
