This exercise took place at areas of Kaisekenkere, Kajuma,Kyamaryante, Kitemgeto,Kaikara,Nsonga,Kamusiima, Ndorero and other trading centres around Buseesa Medical Centre III. In this exercise the immunization in charge mid Josephine Namirimu said that their main target for the exercise is to strength the children’s ability to fight diseases and she continued by saying that this exercise will reduce the chances of children suffering from childhood immunisable diseases.

Not only that it protects children from liver diseases, it also protects lameness and blindness in children and cancer of the cervix in girls, in later year of their life ’midwife Josephine said’

She again continued by saying that the number of babies have drastically increased compared to the past months and she encouraged the parents, guardians to bring their children for immunization so that it can protect them against several dangerous diseases and she said that any child who is not immunized is more likely to become sick, permanent disabled or undernourished and could possibly die.

In her conclusion therefore, she also gave the parents the simple ways how they can distract a child from shots that right before the shot, call your child’s name, sing your child’s favorite song, tell a story,or just act plain silly to pull your child’s attention away from the shot giver and again she encouraged them to keep the distraction going after the vaccine is given and if the child is old, they can take deep breaths with them to help “blow out” pain.
