This exercise took place on 30th.March.2023 at Buseesa Community Development Organization Headquarters whereby the firm engineer Mr. Dickson said that Bio gas is produced using well-established technology in a process involving several stages like Bio waste is crushed into smaller pieces and slurrified to prepare it for the anaerobic digestion process.
He also said that in the final stage, the gas is purified (upgraded) by removing impurities and carbon dioxide and he continued by saying that the Bio gas production can starts from the arrival of feed stocks at the bio gas plant. In his conclusion therefore, he said that In the bio gas reactor, microbial action begins and the biomass enters a gradual process of fermentation.
In practice this means that microbes feed on the organic matter, such as proteins, carbohydrates and lipids, and their digestion turns these into methane and carbon dioxide which is used .as a renewable source of energy and don’t pollute the environment. Thus, it is an Eco-friendly fuel & it reduces soil, water and air pollution. It also produces organic manure as a byproduct.
