Bishop Samuel Kahuma who will retire in August this year is traversing the diocese encouraging Christians to work hard for improved household incomes and strengthening them into the Anglican faith.

While blessing BCDO Projects, Bishop Kahuma tasked residents of the Kibaale district to embrace ongoing government programs like the Parish Development Model to enhance their household incomes.

Bishop Kahuma says the government has put in a favorable environment that can enable everyone to work and develop.

Dr. Richard Lubega, the Executive Director of Busesa Community Development Organization says at the health facility, they offer OPD services, free immunization, and antenatal care among others that have helped the community to have good and accessible health care. He gifted the Bishop with a goat, Cocks, Trays of Eggs, Matooke among others.

Lubega says they have also embraced an integrated approach in Agriculture and have a demonstration farm where community members can learn from and develop themselves.

Dr. Lubega however decried the negative climate changes, fake and expensive agro-inputs that have made them face several challenges while implementing their projects.

He applauded the government for giving them a starting point in fish farming under the Emyooga program.

Residents applauded the organization for giving them a health facility that has saved them from trekking long journeys to access health services from Kibaale Health Centre IV. They said this has so much saved mothers’ lives.

They say while they are accessing free medical services at Buseesa Medical Centre III, they have also had an opportunity to learn how to manage macro projects that have helped them enhance their projects.

Dr. Richard Lubega is the model farmer of the year 2023 and has hosted several government officials at his demonstration farm to showcase what he does to transform the community.
