BCDO hosted a delegation from National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS). The team was conducting research on the performance of NAADs and Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) programs within Kibaale District.
BCDO Demonstration farm was selected as a successful beneficiary of OWC program within greater Kibaale (Kagadi, Kibaale, and Kakumiro Districts) region.
The NAADS team visited the BCDO Piggery project which houses over 180 pigs. The team applauded BCDO for effectively building on the little support from OWC and multiplying the breeds. The team also acknowledged BCDO for improving the quality of piggery breeds with the surrounding community through cross breeding with their local pigs.
The team was also impressed with the BCDO Goats Project which houses 68 goats of Boer and Mubende breeds. The team tasked BCDO to influence the surrounding community to make use of the demonstration site by crossing their local breeds with the breeds at BCDO.
BCDO Executive Director Dr. Lubega Richard was also applauded for being innovative, especially in the use of clean energy got from biogas system installed at BCDO.
