This exercise took place on 23. November.2022 at one farm of buseesa community development organization located in Kibaale district-Matale sub-county akasalaba Buseesa. Before this exercise the farm Dr SEMATA. JOVAN said that a big part of animal care is disease mitigation and prevention. regardless of the Boer goats we own at BCDO farm. Under this, he again said that illness and disease are issues which we may be faced.

He said that the best scenario is to prevent this from occurring in the first place; once again he encouraged farmers that creating a regular vaccination routine is useful when it comes to establishing and maintaining continued good health amongst our herd. BCDO farm Dr. JOHVAN told the farmers that the purpose of vaccine is to boost Goat’s ability for fight off diseases and therefore improving their overall health for the long haul.

He also said that Goats that are current vaccinations will be better protected against the variety of diseases that could affect them. Though this is important to all Goats, it’s especially important for Boer goat that travels, such as shows or herds that experience the frequent influx of new Goats.

In his second word of encouragement, he encouraged farmers that vaccinating goats properly and timely manner will give the goats the best chance of a long, health life at the same time it give the farmer peace of mind to know how they are, when it comes to illness and disease.

In Dr. JOHVAN’S conclusion he said to farmers that each time the farmer administer a vaccine, they should be sure to make records of it so the process of annual vaccinations will be as streamlined and hassle free as possible for both farmer and the goat in their life.
