Busesa Community Development Organization Demo Farm adopts a new and unique sales strategy where broilers and eggs are displayed in cages on different selling points.

Dr Lubega Richard the Executive Director BCDO and a Model Farmer, in response to this, he said this initiative will enable the customers to easily access the farm products like chicken and eggs.
Basing on farm records over 300 to 500 broilers are stocked per month, so in regards to this a steady and stable market is needed in order to hit farm selling targets to avoid inconveniences more especially during the times of installing a new stock.

The strategy has been applied in different towns which include: Buseesa, Kibambura, and Kakumiro.
Farm manager Dickson said that, it will help the farm to register improved sales by giving access even to those who buy in small quantities something he identified beneficial to the community members which is among the goals of BCDO as a whole.
The community was also amazed by the creativity and the innovation of BCDO demo farm and some of them responded by involving in the same kind of business to uplift their economic statuses.
BCDO is a private organization with its headquarters in Buseesa Trading Centre, Matale, Kibaale district; it officially launched its projects in February, 2019 with a mission of combining efforts and resources to respond to social needs through enhancement of self-help activities and provision of better health services to the community.
The projects include: a health facility, demo farm with different farming projects like piggery, goat, cattle, fish, bees, and agriculture which include: micro-banana propagation, nursery beds, a banana plantation, and many others. All with the aim of promoting agriculture and creating a visionary image towards agricultural projects to the community such that their economy transforms as per the mission of the NRM government.
