Kasiimbi Community Members have been advised to always take tests for different Sexual Transmitted Infections (UTI’s) if they are to have good health.
This call was made on 29th-Oct-2023 by Dr Richard Lubega the Executive Director for Buseesa Community Development Organization(BCDO) while addressing the community members of Kasiimbi Parish during a community Health outreach in the Area at Kasiimbi Primary School.
“ about 85 community members were tested and 5 of them merged as HIV positives” Abdul a health worker who works with Baylor Uganda says,, he continued to explain that a number of community members who are on drugs also came in for consultations and help from health workers.”
Abdul continued to advise the community members of Kasiimbi Parish to embark on HIV preventive measures such as condom use, being faithful to the partners, and abstinence more especially to the students.
He also challenged the community members to put more emphasis on HIV testing especially every after a period of three month insisting that it will help the community members to know their health statuses and in return help them seek medication in time before the disease reach the dangerous stages which he said may cause dangerous effects on their lives.

However during the same outreach BCDO provided different health services to the community and among them includes: family planning, cervical cancer screening and also hepatitis ‘B’.
Dr Lubega Richard who is also the executive director for Buseesa Community Development Organization (BCDO) explained that out of 60 community members who took tests for cervical cancer screening none of them tested positive, something he said that it needs more emphasis such that the community members can continue to taking part in such health programs that are majorly brought to improve peoples health status in the community.
According to Dr Lubega Richard’s report, 85 community members had registered for HIV testing, 30 for family planning services, 20 for antenatal and 60 community members for cervical cancer screening.
He also continued to challenge the community members to always have full involvement in the health program that take place in their communities convincing them that it will help on open their minds in fighting different killer diseases in the community.

Dr continued to explain the importance of the above health services to the community and how the community members can benefit from them and above all he talked about a health community and which is one of the pillars of the government and Buseesa Community Development Organization in particular.
