The training will take place at Icipe Nairobi Kenya starting on 6th to 10th May 2019. The total number of participants in the workshop is 40 and all of them are from within the East African Community.

The head of program for insects as food and feed Dr Subramanian Sevgan faciliated on the importance of insect protein, availability, preservation and use in commercial fields.
Dr Sevgan said that it’s estimated that by 2050 the population growth and demand for proteins will be very high compared with sources of provision like from animals, birds and plants. He added that insects can easily be bred using little inputs yet providing high quality proteins for both human and animal consumption.
