Buseesa Medical Center III in partnership with IDI conducted a community health support for antenantal. HIV testing,counselling and immunisation of children against the killer diseases. The exercise took place on 15th May. 2019 at Buseesa Medical Center III headquarters in Matale Sub county, Kibaale District.
Health talk to the beneficiaries was conducted by the incharge maternity Kyaligonza Immaculate of Buseesa Medical Center and Immaculate Ninsiima from Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI). Beneficiaries were sensitized on the importance of immunizing their children against the killer diseases and attending routine antenatal assessment and treatment. Beneficiaries were urged to test for HIV as couples in order to develop trust among themselves and maximum protection against HIV.
People with in Matale subcounty appreciated Buseesa Medical Center for extending antenantal and immunization programs closer to the people who need them most. In Matale sub county there is no government aided health center III and for that reason some of the health services cannot be accessed at Matale Health Center II. During the exercise some staff from
Matale Health Center II participated in the immunization exercise.
51 clients were tested for HIV/AIDS. 42 mothers attended antenatal care and treatment, and 25 children were immunized against the killer diseases.
IDI pledged to continue corroborating with Buseesa Medical Center III to ensure continued delivery of health services especially in areas of HIV testing for pregnant mothers, immunization of young children and enrolling of HIV positive clients to antiretrovirals (ARVs)
